On November 13, a delegation from Armenia, led by the Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, visited the headquarters of STMicroelectronics in Grenoble. According to the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, the delegation was received by Moussa Belkhiter, Vice President of the company's central research and development group. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding cooperation in the semiconductor sector.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan presented Armenia's technological ecosystem, focusing on priority government programs related to semiconductor design, artificial intelligence development, and research initiatives. He noted that strengthening partnerships with leading international and Armenian technology companies opens opportunities for creating new engineering solutions and improving the efficiency of testing and production. Hayrapetyan emphasized that the state policy is aimed at promoting joint initiatives of the state, academia, and industry, which creates conditions for sustainable development of the industry and growth of international competitiveness.
Representatives of STMicroelectronics presented the company's areas of work, its business model, and elements of its own technological ecosystem. The department noted that the STMicroelectronics research center in Grenoble and the company's experience in design, packaging, and manufacturing are fully in line with Armenia's priorities — developing capabilities for designing, assembling, and testing semiconductor products. Initiatives in this area are being implemented thanks to state support and strengthening ties between the scientific and industrial sectors.
