Armenian Prime Minister Appreciates AI Data Center Project with Firebird and NVIDIA

He called it an "extremely significant investment program"

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan studied and appreciated the large-scale AI data center project being implemented in the country in partnership with Firebird and NVIDIA, calling it an "extremely significant investment program." This is how he commented on the decision of the US government to issue Firebird a license to import NVIDIA graphics processors into Armenia. Firebird is a startup working in the field of cloud and infrastructure technologies for artificial intelligence systems.

Pashinyan noted that the license was a direct continuation of the memorandums of intent signed in Washington on August 8. "In connection with the license to export NVIDIA chips, I want to express my gratitude to President (US Donald) Trump. This project is being implemented in the logic of the memorandums of intent signed in Washington on August 8," he said at a briefing on Thursday.

According to the Prime Minister, he recently discussed the project with President Trump, as investors had concerns about its further implementation. "I am glad and grateful that the White House responded appropriately and, in fact, thanks to this, the investment program began to be implemented very quickly. I congratulate Firebird and, in general, the technology sector, all of us, because I believe that this is indeed an extremely important investment program," he emphasized.

AI Data Center Project in Armenia

It was previously reported that the Armenian government, NVIDIA, Firebird and Team Group will join forces to create the region's most powerful supercomputer and data processing center based on artificial intelligence technologies. The project envisages investments of $500 million and the formation of a platform for innovation, education, science and entrepreneurship. It is planned that the center will support the development of local and international startups, provide communication between research initiatives and technologies, and strengthen Armenia's position as a regional technology hub.

Equipment for the project will be purchased from NVIDIA, a world leader in the production of computing solutions for AI. The owner of the data center will be the new company Firebird, and Dell is listed among the project participants. The launch of infrastructure with a capacity of more than 100 MW is scheduled for 2026, with several thousand Blackwell GPUs from NVIDIA installed.
