Ucom has announced the completion of the deployment of its fifth-generation network in all cities of the country. According to the operator, 5G access is provided in 48 cities, hundreds of rural settlements, at the Myler Mountain Resort, along the Yerevan-Dilijan highway, as well as at the Bagratashen, Bavra, and Agarak border checkpoints. As a result, more than 94% of the population of Armenia has the opportunity to use high-speed mobile internet.
The project started in November 2024, and in one year, the operator ensured full coverage of major settlements.
“Expanding the 5G network for us is not just technological progress, but an important step towards providing modern, fast, and stable connectivity for the residents of Armenia. We have fulfilled our promise: in just one year, we have provided 5G coverage for more than 94% of the population, turning the project into a truly national technological initiative. We will continue to view infrastructure modernization and the introduction of innovative solutions as one of our main strategic priorities. We believe that reliable and fast internet opens up new opportunities for education, work, healthcare, and business.”
According to the operator, the infrastructure modernization allows subscribers to receive higher data transfer rates and a stable connection that meets international standards. 5G technology ensures high-quality video calls, real-time transfer of large files, and support for next-generation services.
A detailed list of cities with access to fixed and mobile communications, as well as information about 5G coverage, can befound on the official Ucom website. It is noted that the only settlement where the 5G network is not yet available is Dastakert - due to objective technical and infrastructural limitations.
