Georgia has officially commented on reports in the Azerbaijani media that fuel supplies to Armenia are allegedly being blocked by tariff restrictions.
According to 1tv.ge, on December 5, partners asked Tbilisi to provide a one-time transit of cargo by rail, and the reaction followed immediately.
By the decision of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the Georgian Railway received instructions to carry out the transportation of fuel once and completely free of charge. Official structures of both countries were immediately notified of the decision.
Tbilisi emphasized that Georgia retains the status of a reliable, strategic partner for both Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The department added that the country invariably adheres to a course towards peace and regional cooperation, even in the most sensitive issues of logistics and energy.
