Armenia is completing the year with impressive results in the road sector. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan announced at a government meeting that the performance of subsidy programs will exceed expectations: instead of planned indicators, the country is reaching 200% in terms of subsidies and more than 150% in terms of road works.
According to the minister, by the end of November, 505 km of asphalt roads and about 20 km of new dirt roads have already been built in the country. Large-scale works have made it possible to update infrastructure in several regions at once, accelerating the implementation of projects that previously progressed much more slowly.
Special attention was paid to the repair of poorly executed road sections of previous years. Khudatyan noted that the top layer of more than 30 km of such roads was completely replaced - and this is not included in the total figure of 505 km. The department expects that by the end of the year the road program will be one of the most successfully implemented in the country.
