Armenia may become the main beneficiary of TRIPP

The US Ambassador believes that the new corridor will give the country unique economic and geopolitical opportunities

Armenia will benefit more from the implementation of the TRIPP route than other countries, US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien said in an interview with Civilnet. According to her, the "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" is capable of connecting East and West, and in the future, uniting Central Asia with Western Europe through the South Caucasus.

Kvien noted that the region has long remained a bottleneck due to geopolitical factors. The creation of a safe and reliable transit route that will pass through Nakhichevan, Armenia, Gyumri and further to the Turkish province of Kars will open a new corridor for transportation and trade. According to her, almost all countries through which the route passes will benefit, but the effect will be especially significant for Armenia.

The Ambassador emphasized that Armenia has lived with closed eastern and western borders for more than 30 years, and TRIPP is capable of radically changing this situation. The project is planned to be developed jointly with the United States through a special Armenian-American joint venture registered in Armenia. The country will constantly participate in negotiations, which, according to Kvien, should guarantee respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and jurisdiction of Armenia. The implementation of the infrastructure project is scheduled to begin in 2026.
