Yerevan Municipality and Yandex Armenia have signed a memorandum of understanding, which provides for the exchange of anonymized analytical data to improve the efficiency of transport infrastructure and improve the urban environment of the Armenian capital.
The document secures the launch of the project "Data exchange for improving the urban environment". It is aimed at developing centralized management of the Yerevan transport system and improving the quality of traffic management.
Under the memorandum, Yandex Armenia, within its technical and legal capabilities, will provide the Mayor's Office with analytical data. This information can be used to implement intelligent solutions in the field of traffic management and public transport.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan said that the city administration is open to cooperation and interested in implementing joint projects aimed at improving the quality of life of the city's residents.
The head of Yandex Armenia, Aram Mkhitaryan, noted that the company's analytical data can contribute to the modernization of the transport system through modern approaches to centralized management.
Yandex Armenia is ready to provide the Yerevan Municipality with aggregated anonymized data that does not contain personal information. They relate to urban mobility and navigation, the road network and stops, as well as public transport routes.
It is expected that the use of this data will optimize traffic and increase the convenience and predictability of public transport for Yerevan residents.
