The Eurasian Development Bank has announced its interest in participating in the construction of a new station on the Yerevan Metro. This was stated by Yaroslav Mandron, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the EBRD, noting that the bank has already reserved funds for this project. According to him, recently there has been hope that work on the development of the metro in the capital of Armenia has indeed entered an active phase.
The EBRD emphasizes that it is ready to consider both direct financing of construction and the allocation of grant funds for preparatory activities. At the same time, the bank expects specific proposals from the Armenian side and an understanding of the format of participation. Previously, the EBRD had already indicated its readiness to support the project at an early stage, including pre-project and organizational work.
The Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro was opened in 1981 and today includes 10 stations with a total length of 13.4 km.
