The panel discussion "High Technologies and the Economy: Discussing the Future of Armenia," organized by Yandex Armenia, took place in Yerevan. Participants discussed the strategic plan for the development of high technologies being developed by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, as well as the country's prospects in the context of global technological trends.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Ruben Simonyan, Head of the Consulting Service of Ameria CJSC Tigran Jrbashyan, and internationally recognized economist Ruben Yenikolopov. Experts noted Armenia's potential to become a regional hub for R&D and emphasized the need for joint work between the state, the private sector, and the technological community. Special attention was paid to the role of the diaspora as a source of knowledge, investment and business connections.
Participants also discussed the priority of developing human capital and the practical implementation of technologies, including artificial intelligence-based solutions, to stimulate other sectors of the economy. The moderator of the discussion, Director of Government Relations at Yandex Armenia, Tigran Gasparyan, emphasized the company's readiness to support such initiatives and create platforms for discussing the country's technological development.
