The Summer Hall of the "Moscow" Cinema in Yerevan Will Come Back to Life

The development of working drawings will begin in 2026

In Yerevan, the upcoming complete restoration of the summer hall of the "Moscow" cinema, which has remained closed and abandoned for many years, has been announced. The project will preserve the original ideological and architectural concept of the hall, while the surrounding area will be landscaped: temporary and small buildings that interfere with the full use of the space will be dismantled from Tumanyan Street.

The restoration and modernization will be carried out by architect Agasi Kntekhtsyan, son of the famous architect Spartak Kntekhtsyan. According to project participants, work has been underway on the restoration concept for the past three years, and the development of working drawings will begin in 2026.

In addition to preserving the historical appearance, the summer hall will be modernized to meet modern requirements. All updates are planned so as not to violate the architectural integrity of the object, which is one of the key tasks of the restoration project.
