Armenia is actively studying the UAE's advanced technologies in the field of digitalization of public services and border management. The focus is on the E‑Gate system, which allows speeding up border crossing, as well as comprehensive electronic services for citizens and businesses. The visit of the Armenian delegation, headed by the Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service Nelly Davtyan, allowed to get acquainted in detail with the practices that can be adapted for Armenia.
The digitalization of borders is of particular importance in the framework of the Armenia-EU visa liberalization program. In the UAE, the delegation studied the operation of E-Gate systems, the digitalization of passport and migration services, as well as cybersecurity issues and the use of platforms such as eDAS 2.0.
The acquired experience is planned to be used to modernize migration and border processes in Armenia, increase the speed and convenience of border crossing, as well as improve electronic services for citizens and businesses.
