YSU may become a platform for artificial intelligence training

The university plans to launch a pilot AI literacy program in 2026

Yerevan State University is considering the possibility of introducing the "Artificial Intelligence Literacy Program." The initiative was proposed by the Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who noted that AI is gradually becoming a key tool in education and professional activities.

The program is designed for specialists from various industries and involves training in the safe and effective use of AI tools, understanding its basic principles, and skills in working with AI-based solutions. The pilot launch is planned for the 2026/27 academic year.

If successful, the initiative may be extended to other universities in the country, and subsequently to schools. YSU, as the leading educational center in Armenia, can become a platform for the formation of the first generations of specialists who confidently work with the technologies of the future.
