Pashinyan explained why his official car received a "golden" number

The Prime Minister emphasized that this is a matter of protocol, not a whim

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the change of his official car's license plate to "am 1" after criticism for using "golden" numbers. Previously, he opposed such preferences, but now he explained the decision with the logic of state protocol.

According to Pashinyan, the previous Armenian letters CC on the license plate (001 UU) were perceived as the initials of former President Serzh Sargsyan. "We believe that the license plate should not be someone's initials. I shouldn't be NP 001," the Prime Minister noted.

The change of the number, he stressed, is not related to personal preferences, but to the need to comply with state attributes and formalities, which, according to the Prime Minister, should be taken into account as much as possible in official activities.
