Cyberpolice of Armenia Warns of Risks of Online "Paid Tasks"

A small reward can turn into serious consequences

The Cyberpolice of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia has warned citizens about the growing threat of online "paid tasks" that offer a small reward for photographing places, objects, or participating in surveys. Although the tasks seem harmless, they can hide serious risks, including collecting data on strategic objects, infrastructure, and even accidentally capturing people or private territories.

"Recently, various online platforms and mobile applications have become widespread, offering citizens small paid tasks: to photograph certain places, objects, territories, streets, or participate in dubious surveys," the message says.

Experts emphasize that the initiators of such tasks often remain unknown, and the purposes of collecting information are unclear. People may unwittingly become participants in actions that are dangerous to the state or personal security.

The Cyberpolice advises refraining from shooting or collecting data on dubious tasks, especially if they are related to state, military, or strategic objects. The main recommendation is not to allow monetary gain to draw you into potentially dangerous processes.
