Armenia Launches Supercomputer with Nvidia H100 Accelerators

The new center is expected to strengthen the country's position in artificial intelligence and scientific computing

A new supercomputer center focused on artificial intelligence and high-performance computing has started operating at Yerevan State University. The computing complex is equipped with 64 modern Nvidia H100 accelerators and has become one of the most powerful academic resources in the region. The project aims to develop Armenia's scientific and technological potential, as well as to support research in priority areas.

The creation of the center should give impetus to fundamental and applied research, as well as the launch of innovative programs and the modernization of the educational process. The supercomputer will be used both for scientific work and for training specialists who can work with large data sets and complex computational models. A separate emphasis is placed on machine learning tasks and the development of AI solutions.

The main users of the new computing resource will be researchers in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as specialists in computational physics, materials science, computational chemistry, medicine, and biomedical research. In addition, the supercomputer's capacity is planned to be used for climate modeling, robotics, and other areas that require extreme computing performance.
