A noticeable decrease in gasoline prices has been recorded in Armenia. Depending on the gas station network, a liter of Regular gasoline is now sold in the range of 460–470 drams, and Premium — from 430 to 550 drams. The sharp decline is due to the appearance on the market of fuel batches imported from Azerbaijan, which has increased competition and forced even those gas stations that do not directly work with this import to revise the price list.
Against the background of falling gasoline prices, the situation with liquefied gas developed in the opposite direction. In just a few days, the cost of gas increased from 160–200 to 260–270 drams per kilogram. In some regions, there was a temporary shortage at gas stations, which further fueled price growth.
The authorities explain what is happening by interruptions in gas supplies from Russia and Iran. The main reasons were snowfalls on Verkhny Lars, as well as external restrictions. The government said that the key to solving the problem is the diversification of logistics routes, and promised price stabilization in the coming months.
