Tehran Rushes to Complete Third Power Transmission Line with Armenia

Project is almost ready

Iran is actively working to complete the construction of the third high-voltage Armenia-Iran line, Ambassador Khalil Shirgholami announced on January 14. According to him, the project is 93–94% ready, and its launch will allow Armenia to increase electricity exports to Iran in exchange for additional volumes of gas.

The implementation of the line is especially important for the northwestern regions of Iran, where there is a high demand for electricity during certain periods. The ambassador noted that the contractor faced technical difficulties, but steps are being taken to complete the work as soon as possible.

It is expected that the completion of the project will strengthen energy cooperation between the two countries and ensure reliable electricity supplies to regions with peak consumption, as well as improve gas supplies to Armenia.
