Armenia's IT sector has grown more than 12 times in eight years

A record growth of companies, revenue, and the introduction of digital technologies throughout the country is noted

Since 2018, the number of companies in the information technology sector of Armenia has increased by 1225%, or more than 12 times, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with representatives of IT, artificial intelligence and telecommunications. During this period, the sector's monetary turnover increased by 171%, total revenue almost quadrupled, and the number of employees more than quintupled.

Pashinyan emphasized that the development of the industry is not limited to numbers: today, satellite Internet, including Starlink services, is available throughout Armenia, which contributes to the uniform digital development of the regions. Also, the first state supercomputer was recently launched at Yerevan State University, opening up new opportunities for research and technology.

In the context of strategic development, the Prime Minister noted the Armenian-American TRIPP project, aimed at introducing high-tech solutions in border and customs control. It is planned to use these technologies at all border crossing points, including Zvartnots Airport, as well as the introduction of a biometric passport system to improve security and efficiency.
