Video surveillance systems are planned to be installed in all kindergartens in Yerevan, said the mayor of the capital, Tigran Avinyan. Previously, cameras operated only in 42 kindergartens, now we are talking about full coverage of the city. Access to video surveillance will be strictly limited to ensure security and protection of personal data.
According to Avinyan, the introduction of cameras has already prevented a number of negative cases in children's institutions. The video surveillance mechanism practically excludes manifestations of improper attitude towards children, the mayor notes.
The head of the general education department, Margarit Khachatryan, clarified that about 1,700 cameras are installed in the existing 42 kindergartens, serving 353 groups. The video stream undergoes centralized daily monitoring, which increases control over compliance with norms and rules inside kindergartens.
