Armenia, with the support of the United States, is launching a Monitoring Center at the customs and border infrastructure. According to Eduard Hakobyan, head of the State Revenue Committee, the system will allow real-time centralized monitoring of data from all X-ray scanners at the country's checkpoints. Management will be conducted from Yerevan.
The project is being implemented under the EXBS program. The US is allocating $3.5 million for the implementation of the CertScan digital platform. This involves creating a unified coordination hub that will integrate data flows and provide rapid analysis of cargo information.
In effect, a "smart" customs management center is being formed: fewer manual procedures, faster detection of suspicious shipments, and greater logistics transparency. This is expected to strengthen border protection, reduce the risks of smuggling, and simultaneously simplify legal trade.
