Armenia Invested Nearly $140 Million in Energy and Gas Supply in 2025

Head of PSRC Summarized Investments and Commented on Rejection of Applications

In 2025, 52 billion drams (approximately $140 million) were invested in Armenia's electricity and gas supply system, according to Mesrop Mesropyan, Head of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC). Of this, 31 billion drams were allocated to electricity and 21 billion drams to gas supply, which helped maintain the stability of the networks and improve infrastructure.

The regulator explained the rejection of an additional application from the former management of the Electric Networks of Armenia to revise the investment program for 2025. The commission did not accept the proposal because it planned to ignore power outages related to modernization when assessing the quality of service. Mesropyan emphasized that quality indicators directly depend on planned and emergency shutdowns, and previously no investments were made in the system.

The head of the PSRC also noted that he does not have data on improper management of ENA and frequent power outages. According to him, the directed funds will allow modernizing the infrastructure and increasing the reliability of energy networks and gas supply in the country.
