More than 12,000 IT companies operate in Armenia

As of 2025, there are 12,026 IT companies in Armenia, employing 41,431 specialists, according to the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan. For comparison, in 2017, there were only 650 companies in the country, with a total of 15,350 employees. Thus, in eight years, the industry has grown almost 19 times in terms of the number of companies and 2.6 times in terms of the number of specialists.

The turnover of the IT sector in 2025 exceeded 1 trillion drams, a 3.2-fold increase compared to 2017, and exports reached 711.5 billion drams, which is 5.2 times higher than the 2017 figure. Ayrapetyan noted that the growth of the industry is supported by the expansion of the number of companies and the increase in qualified personnel, as well as active entry into international markets.

The Minister emphasized that the development of IT has become a key driver of the Armenian economy, creating new jobs and strengthening the country's position as a region with high potential in the field of technology and digital innovation.
