As part of the construction of the North-South highway in Armenia, the drilling of the second tunnel on the Kajaran-Agarak section, with a length of 530 m, has been completed, the road department reports. Currently, work is underway in the tunnel to ensure dimensional parameters for safe traffic.
The first tunnel, 455 m long, was completed in May 2025, after which the contractor began concreting the lining.
The construction of bridges and the roadbed continues throughout the entire section, which ensures the readiness of the highway for further operation and increases the transport accessibility of the region.
