Armenia on the Road to "Formula 1": FIA Delegation Explores Country's Potential

A delegation from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), led by Secretary General for Sport, Valerio Iacchizzi, has arrived in Yerevan to discuss the prospects for motorsport in Armenia. The main topic of the meeting with the country's Minister of Economy, Vahram Papoyan, was the development of motorsport infrastructure and the creation of conditions for holding international competitions.

During the negotiations, the parties considered the possibilities of attracting investments for the construction of tracks and related facilities, as well as programs to support young athletes and train specialists. Options for integrating Armenia into the calendar of international auto races, including potential Formula 1 stages, were discussed.

Experts note that the implementation of these initiatives could make the country a prominent center for motorsport in the region, opening up new opportunities for business and tourism. Final decisions on the projects are expected after a detailed analysis of Armenia's infrastructure and investment potential.
