The Armenian government has decided to tighten the requirements for the technical inspection of gas cylinders in cars. At a cabinet meeting on February 26, it was clarified that the inspection and certification of cylinders in specialized laboratories will now be recorded on video, and the recordings must be stored for at least six months.

Previously, owners of vehicles running on compressed gas were required to undergo laboratory inspections every two years. The new measures strengthen control: gas stations will not be able to serve cars without a current inspection, and compliance with certification rules will be checked by the Inspection Body for Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety.

Thus, the Armenian authorities seek to improve the operational safety of cars with gas cylinders and minimize the risk of accidents and fires associated with faulty gas systems.
