"We are from the security service": IDBank warns of a surge in telephone fraud

The bank reminds of the basic rules

Armenia is recording an increase in fraud cases using the "call from the bank" scheme. IDBank reports that attackers pose as security officers and create a sense of urgent threat to the account from the first seconds of the conversation. The main goal is not to hack the system, but psychological pressure so that the person himself transmits confidential data.

The scenarios are standard: "suspicious transaction", "loan processing", "card blocking" or "large write-offs". Under any pretext, the victim is persuaded to name codes from SMS, card details, logins and passwords. Sometimes fraudsters demonstrate "awareness" by naming the client's name or details of recent purchases - such information often gets into the network from leaks.

The bank reminds: employees never request confirmation codes, PINs or full card details. If you receive an alarming call, you need to interrupt the conversation and contact the bank yourself at the official number. If you are being pressured and demand urgency, this is a clear sign of fraud.
