Armenia has decided to streamline the movement of freight transport at the border. The National Assembly of Armenia has adopted in the second and final reading amendments to the law "On Customs Regulation", providing for the launch of an electronic truck queue management system at border checkpoints.
According to Hamlet Sahakyan, Deputy Head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, the implementation will begin with the busiest northern and southern border crossing points of the country. The system will allow to record the movement of freight transport, register vehicles and issue permits to enter the territory of the checkpoint.
It is also planned to organize special paid parking lots at a distance of up to 20 km from the border. It is there that the automated electronic queue system will operate, which should reduce congestion on the approaches to the border crossing points and make border crossing more organized for trucks. 🚚🛰️
