Ameriabank has become the first company from Armenia to be included in the FTSE 100 index of the London Stock Exchange. This was made possible because the bank is part of the international financial group Lion Finance Group (LFG), whose market capitalization allowed it to be among the 100 largest companies on the exchange.
The FTSE 100 index brings together the largest companies whose shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange and is considered one of the key indicators of the state of the British stock market. Inclusion in this list usually indicates a high capitalization and significant influence of the company on international financial markets.
For Armenia, this event is an important symbolic achievement, as no company in the country has previously been represented among the largest issuers on the London Stock Exchange. Ameriabank noted that participation in an international financial group opens up new opportunities for development and strengthening its position in the global market.
