Clients of the Armenian payment system UBPay can now transfer money from Armenia to the UK directly to bank accounts. The new service is implemented in partnership with the British money transfer system MoneyTO. Permission for cooperation between the two systems was issued by the Council of the Central Bank of Armenia on January 30, 2026.
Funds can be sent at all UBPay partner service points throughout the country. Transfers are available in several currencies — Armenian drams, British pounds, euros and US dollars, while the recipient receives funds in pounds. The transfer fee starts from 0%.
Money transfers remain an important part of the country's economy. At the end of 2025, the volume of receipts from abroad amounted to $5.98 billion, while about $4.3 billion was sent from Armenia abroad. At the same time, over the past 5 years, the volume of transfers from Armenia to the UK has increased by about 6 times. UBPay notes that the new service will be especially in demand among those whose relatives live, study or work in the UK.
