New Railway Corridor to Armenia Launched via Azerbaijan

A test train from Russia transited through two countries and opened a new supply route

A test batch of fertilizers was sent to Armenia for the first time via a new railway route. A train consisting of 10 covered wagons was dispatched from the North Caucasus Railway station in Russia and delivered to the South Caucasus Railway in transit through Azerbaijan and Georgia.

The transportation was organized by the First Freight Company, one of the largest private railway operators in Russia. The company reported that the test shipment was successful, which opens up opportunities for regular deliveries via the new route.

By April, it is planned to increase the volume of transportation by approximately three times and expand the list of goods. Projects are also being considered for the transportation of consolidated cargo, industrial raw materials, and non-ferrous metals along the same logistics route. 🚆📦
