Armenia intends to introduce digital tools to protect competition and consumer rights in the coming years. This was announced by the head of the relevant commission, Gegham Gevorgyan. According to him, modern digital platforms create a huge number of hidden actions that can affect the market, and it is almost impossible to identify such violations by traditional methods.
The regulator has already begun to apply new approaches. In particular, the dynamics of prices are monitored both within the country and in global markets in order to quickly identify anomalies and possible abuses. At the same time, the "Consumer Assistant" service has been launched, which allows users to directly report problems through a digital platform, contacting businesses without intermediaries.
In addition, the tool is planned to be integrated with the Active Citizen city system in Yerevan. The authorities are also betting on artificial intelligence technologies, which will help to analyze data more deeply and identify violations precisely. It is expected that this will significantly strengthen control over the digital environment and increase market transparency.
