In January 2026, Armenia's exports and imports decreased by 13.5% and 11.2%, respectively, compared to last year, after record growth in the last months of 2025. This data is contained in a World Bank review.
The main reason for the decline in exports was a drop in the supply of precious and semi-precious stones by 45.1% and household appliances by 69.1%, as well as a reduction in the export of finished food products and products of animal origin. Only mining products made a positive contribution, with exports increasing by 43%.
Imports also decreased, including due to a decline of 63.3% for stones, 42.7% for household appliances, and 25.7% for vehicles. At the same time, excluding these categories, exports increased by 8%, and imports remained at the same level. The country's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $1.28 billion, including $463.9 million of exports and $811.8 million of imports.
