Armenia Bets on AI

Tens of Millions of Dollars to Be Invested in New Digital Infrastructure

Armenia is moving from discussions to practical implementation of projects in the field of artificial intelligence.

The country is already launching initiatives to create specialized data centers and cloud platforms with investments of tens of millions of dollars. One such project is the public AI cloud from Eleveight AI, focused on working with high-performance computing.

According to the head of the company, Arman Aleksanyan, AI will be implemented in almost all processes of the financial sector — from analytics and automation to risk management. At the same time, Armenia has the potential to become a regional platform for AI services due to access to computing resources, infrastructure, and technological solutions, including Nvidia equipment.

The first phase of the Eleveight AI project is estimated at approximately $70 million, and the launch of the data center in the Sevan area is expected in the near future. According to the expert, further development of the industry will depend on the balance between regulation and stimulation of innovation, including approaches to crypto assets and digital financial instruments.
