Armenia and the USA are preparing an agreement on the TRIPP project

The document should define the rules for the implementation of the route connecting key regions

Armenia and the United States continue to work on an intergovernmental agreement on the TRIPP project, which should enshrine the legal mechanisms for its implementation. This was announced by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, specifying that the negotiations are proceeding in a working mode and without delays.

According to him, the next stage will be the signing of a document that will define the legal framework of the project. At the same time, the Armenian side has already informed Iran, and Tehran has stated that it has no claims. Yerevan emphasizes that this is exclusively a transport initiative aimed at developing economic ties in the region.

The TRIPP project involves the creation of a multimodal transit route through the territory of Armenia, including connecting the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan and integration into the Trans-Caspian Corridor. To implement the initiative, it is planned to create a separate company that may be granted the right to manage the project for a period of up to 49 years.
