Armenia plans to make the "Generation AI" and STEP.ai programs mandatory for all schools in the country. The Ministry of Education announced that the introduction of artificial intelligence into the educational process has already been included in the prepared roadmap for the reform.
The reform covers three areas: training schoolchildren and teachers to work with AI, introducing AI tools into lessons, and revising teaching methods. The main emphasis is on applied mathematics, critical thinking, and solving complex problems. It is predicted that up to 15% of graduates will choose a career in the field of AI.
The "Generation AI" program has already been expanded: if previously it covered 15 schools, now it covers more than two dozen, and in the future it is planned to scale it to dozens of educational institutions throughout the country. Students create real projects — from algorithms to drones for monitoring fires. The training is complemented by the STEP.ai hybrid platform with online courses, quizzes, and virtual laboratories with the support of technology companies, in order to form a generation ready to use AI for economic development.
