The Sky is Open: Armenia Responds Firmly to Rumors of Flight Restrictions

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia has denied widespread reports of alleged restrictions on the use of the country's airspace. The agency stressed that no prohibitions have been introduced for any country, including civilian aircraft from Azerbaijan.

The statement notes that Armenia operates within international norms, in particular the provisions of the Chicago Convention of the ICAO, which prohibit discrimination in the use of airspace. All transit commercial flights are carried out on the basis of standard flight plans submitted by airlines, without the need for separate interstate agreements.

The committee added that any changes to the rules are published through the NOTAM notification system, but no such decisions have been made at the moment. Information on transit flights is also transmitted to the relevant structures in the established order.
