A "Roadmap" for Protecting Children in the Digital Environment Will Be Developed in Armenia

A special expert group will be created to develop solutions

Armenia is launching the development of a comprehensive "roadmap" aimed at protecting children in the digital environment. This was announced by the Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, emphasizing that the initiative will require the participation of several departments and coordination at the state level.

To develop solutions, a special expert group will be created, which will conduct a detailed analysis of the situation and propose concrete steps. The document will include various action scenarios — from educational initiatives to more stringent regulatory and control mechanisms.

According to the minister, the package of measures will be as broad as possible: it will cover both increasing digital literacy and possible technical and legislative restrictions. The authorities hope that this approach will improve the safety of children online and adapt the country to new digital risks.
