Your iPhone can be "hijacked" in a minute: a new scheme via iCloud revealed in Armenia

Scammers ask you to log into someone else's account - and completely block the device

The Cyber Police of Armenia has warned about a new fraud scheme related to the iCloud service. Under various pretexts, attackers convince iPhone owners to log into someone else's account, after which they gain control over the device. As a result, the user may completely lose access to their smartphone.

According to the department, such offers are distributed through popular messengers, including Telegram, WhatsApp, and Viber. After logging into someone else's account, scammers can remotely block the device and then demand money to unlock it or use the access for other criminal purposes.

Users are urged not to enter data from other people's accounts, not to follow instructions from unknown individuals, and not to share access codes, passwords, or any information related to Apple ID. Otherwise, attackers can gain complete control over the device and personal data, which makes such attacks particularly dangerous.
