Armenia Reduces Tax on Electric Vehicles

Owners will be able to see the new tax amount in their personal account on the roadpolice.am platform

From April 1, electric vehicle owners in Armenia will pay significantly less property tax. The new calculation method takes into account the engine power or the data from the vehicle's electronic passport, which reduces the financial burden on owners of "green" transport.

If the engine power is up to 250 hp, it is divided by 1.5, and if the power is higher than 250 hp, the first 250 hp is divided by 1.5, and the remaining part is divided by 2.5. In practice, this reduces the tax by almost half: a 2025 electric vehicle will cost 276,000 drams instead of 666,000 drams.

For already registered electric vehicles, the information will be updated automatically. Owners will be able to see the new tax amount in their personal account on the roadpolice.am platform or via notification.
