The Armenian government has approved amendments to the law "On Energy", paving the way for the introduction of industrial energy storage systems. This concerns large battery stations capable of accumulating excess electricity from solar power plants during the day and returning it to the grid in the evening and at night, when the load increases.
According to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the use of such technologies can radically change the country's energy balance. Armenia's main resource is solar energy, and its efficient storage will significantly reduce dependence on external supplies.
The new measures are aimed at developing modern infrastructure and increasing the stability of the energy system. In the future, this could provide a more stable energy supply and create a basis for the country's complete energy self-sufficiency.
