Networks Under Control: Armenia Prepares to Transfer Power System to International Operator

Authorities Want to Secure "Electric Networks of Armenia" for the State and Find an External Manager

The government of Armenia intends to change the management model of the country's energy infrastructure. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced plans to transfer the management of the Electric Networks of Armenia company to an international operator.

Before that, the authorities are going to legally register the company as state property. Previously, it was effectively nationalized from the Tashir Group, but now they plan to officially secure this status.

After that, an open international tender will be announced, following which a professional manager will be selected. It is expected that this model will improve the efficiency of the power system and attract international expertise in the management of the country's key infrastructure.
