Estonia Takes on Cyber Defense of Elections in Armenia: Tallinn Ready to Share 20 Years of Experience

Ahead of the parliamentary vote in Yerevan, international attention to digital security and the resilience of the electoral system is increasing

Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that Estonia is ready to transfer its more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity to Armenia. According to him, the upcoming parliamentary elections on June 7, 2026, should be as transparent and resistant to external digital threats as possible, and digital protection is becoming a key element of the democratic process.

Tsahkna noted that in the modern world, electoral processes are increasingly under pressure from information and cyber risks. In this context, he emphasized Estonia's readiness to offer practical assistance and technologies that have already proven effective in the national e-governance system.

The statement was made at a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan. The discussion also touched upon the issue of international influence on electoral processes and the need to strengthen digital infrastructure to ensure the free expression of citizens' will without external pressure.
