Pashinyan Warned About the Risks of AI: The Labor Market May Change Faster Than Expected

Authorities are urging to prepare for the transformation of employment, while experts are talking about new opportunities

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the active introduction of artificial intelligence technologies could affect the labor market and employment. He said this at a meeting with the country's largest employers, emphasizing that digitalization brings not only advantages, but also potential risks to jobs.

According to him, the state and business need to conduct an analysis in advance and prepare practical solutions to adapt to changes. The authorities must identify key areas of cooperation and steps that will help mitigate possible consequences and ensure a smooth transformation of employment.

At the same time, more optimistic assessments are heard in the industry. For example, Amazon Web Services representative Mattias Unduraga at the Doing Digital Forum 2026 noted that AI does not so much displace workers as it expands their capabilities, and urged specialists to adapt to the new conditions more quickly.
