Armenia is making a serious bid to become a technology hub and is strengthening cooperation with France in the field of innovation and artificial intelligence. Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan held talks with his French counterpart Benjamin Haddad, where the parties emphasized strong political ties as the basis for launching new joint projects.
The key emphasis is on human capital: Yerevan is confident that combining the engineering and scientific competencies of the two countries will open up opportunities in semiconductors, R&D, and the creation of high-tech products. Armenia seeks to attract leading European companies, offering an improved business environment and support for entering the local market.
The idea of using the country as a full-fledged research platform — from design to testing solutions — was also discussed. Projects are already being implemented with Mistral AI and other players, and in the future, cooperation may cover cybersecurity and large-scale AI development, strengthening the economy and accelerating the country's European integration.
