Armenia has begun discussing measures to strengthen the cybersecurity of strategically important facilities, primarily in the energy sector. The focus is on the Electric Networks of Armenia, which have been selected as a pilot site for the implementation of new protection standards.
The initiative was launched by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, with representatives from relevant departments and the company's management joining the discussion. According to Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, the energy infrastructure is critical for the country, so its protection from cyber threats is becoming a priority.
The project includes the development of internal competencies, the attraction of experts, and the implementation of comprehensive protection solutions. In the future, the developed approaches can be extended to other key industries where resilience to digital attacks plays a crucial role.
