Yerevan and London to be linked directly: Armenia expands its air network and increases passenger traffic

In 2026, Armenia plans to launch direct flights on the Yerevan-London-Yerevan route. This was announced by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan, who noted that the project would become one of the most anticipated for passengers and business.

At the same time, an expansion of the route network is being prepared: flights to Brussels are expected to be launched, as well as to the Netherlands by several airlines. The authorities intend to make more active use of the potential of Shirak Airport in Gyumri - in addition to the already operating flights to Larnaca, new destinations are being discussed, including Russia.

At the end of last year, flights from Armenia were operated on 70 routes with the participation of 48 airlines, and total passenger traffic reached 5.7 million people. In 2025, 10 new routes were opened, and this year the flight expansion program will continue.
