Connection to power grids will become sharply cheaper: tariffs in Armenia to be cut by up to 40%

In Armenia, the cost of connecting new subscribers to the "Electric Networks of Armenia" will be reduced. By decision of the regulator, tariffs will decrease by up to 40% for individuals and legal entities, while the fee for increasing or connecting additional capacity will be cut by up to 55%. This was reported by the company's interim manager, Romanos Petrosyan.

The new rates apply to connections to 0.22 kV and 0.4 kV networks. For private homes and businesses, the cost of connection at a capacity of 10 kVA in Yerevan will fall to 166 thousand drams, and in the regions to 124 thousand drams. At 14 kVA, tariffs will also decrease noticeably, as will the fixed portion of the fee and variable costs.

The changes will also affect apartment building projects: for developers, connection costs will decrease by 39-45% depending on capacity and the type of connection. In three-phase networks, both base tariffs and variable expenses have also been revised. The new rules will enter into force immediately after the official publication of the decision.
