TRIPP in action: Armenia prepares to launch railway power supply from 2026

The project involving the United States and Azerbaijan will create infrastructure and new jobs

In Armenia, work is planned to begin in 2026 on launching the power supply of railway infrastructure as part of the TRIPP investment project. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, noting that power transmission lines will be the first to be put into operation.

According to him, on-site work will start as early as next year, and the energy component of the project may be implemented faster than the other stages. He also emphasized that the project is capable of creating a significant number of jobs and expressed hope that the main share of personnel will be provided within the country without the need to attract foreign labor.

TRIPP is being implemented in the context of the Washington Declaration, signed in 2025 with the participation of the leaders of Armenia, the United States, and Azerbaijan. The document provides for the development of transport and infrastructure links, including ensuring communications through the territory of Armenia while respecting its sovereignty, and the participation of international partners in implementing the project.
