Gazprom will form an operational gas reserve in Armenia by the start of the 2026–2027 heating season. The volume of reserves in the underground storage facility will be 0.107 billion cubic meters, which should ensure stable operation of the gas system during peak demand.
Preparations are being made in advance to minimize possible disruptions and guarantee reliable supply to consumers. The main site remains the Abovyan underground storage facility, where reserves are accumulated for subsequent use during the cold season.
Russian gas supplies to Armenia are carried out in transit through Georgia, with Gazprom Armenia, a subsidiary, acting as the key operator. The company is responsible for the transportation, storage, and distribution of fuel, as well as for the development of gas supply infrastructure in the country.
