EU Boosts School Reform in Armenia: €8.55 Million Allocated for New Level Education

Funds will go towards infrastructure, STEM, teachers, and digital modernization of the system

The European Union has allocated €8.55 million to support educational reforms in Armenia. The funding is part of the “EU Support to Education in Armenia” program and is already showing interim implementation results.

The project covers the renovation of school infrastructure, the transition to a new management system, and increased transparency in the appointment of principals. A new classroom funding mechanism is also being introduced, and STEM education is being expanded through equipping schools with modern laboratories.

Special emphasis is placed on teacher retraining, career guidance for grades 8-11, updating curricula to include green economy and climate considerations, and launching a new knowledge assessment system. Armenian authorities state their commitment to continuing reforms in close cooperation with European partners.
